In 1666, Charles II made New Park Manor, in the heart of this ancient forest, his favourite hunting lodge. Over 300 years later, it's still the perfect getaway for anyone wishing to explore this unique patchwork of woodland, heath and wetland. Open log fires, beamed ceilings and wood panelling create a warm, inviting atmosphere in the reception rooms - they're perfect for watching deer, ponies, birds and foxes. The Polo Bar is always popular with its strikingly contemporary design, flagged stone floor and panelled walls, while the Rufus Lounge, with its deep leather armchairs, rich, warm colours and sports memorabilia, has the character of a convivial club.
